Recently a number of you reported receiving a phishing email that looked like this email below.

Emails like this often end up in your spam folder. But sometimes they end up in your inbox. When they do, it is important to remember to:

Monitor for other unusual emails, texts or calls as scammers often follow up after they get your email or personal details.
Be skeptical of any “personal information” requests no matter who it is from. The goal of phishing emails is usually to collect your information to sell it to other more malicious scammers.
Report suspicious emails or texts. Reporting these phishing attempts promptly allows your IT department time to protect the District and all users accounts.
Scammers rely on urgency! Just because it sounds urgent doesn’t make it safe. Always verify requests for personal information or access to your accounts. You can do this by contacting the requestor using a known good contact method, NEVER reply to the suspect email for verification.

As a preventative measure we recommend changing your passwords at least every 90 days. If you need help with changing your passwords, please contact the IT Department.
