PRES Families,
It was another busy and exciting week at Pablo Roybal Elementary School! We wrapped up the week with a wonderful Elk Spirit Walk, and we want to thank our students, staff, families, and volunteers for making the event such a success. It was great to see our PRES community come together and show so much Elk Pride! 💚👟
Students still have time to collect and return their Walk-a-Thon donations through October 1. Our goal is $60 per student, with 85% of funds raised going directly back to classrooms and the remaining 15% supporting specials, bilingual programs, and the school office. These funds help make field trips, transportation, classroom projects, hands-on activities, and other special student experiences possible throughout the year.
👵👴 Grandparents Day is Coming!
Grandparents Day will be held Thursday, October 15! Order forms are being sent home with students. Tickets are $5.50 each, with a limit of two tickets per student. Families should return the bottom portion of the form along with cash or check payment to PRES.
📝 Impact Aid Forms
Please be on the lookout for Impact Aid forms coming home. These forms help PVSD receive important federal funding that supports our schools, programs, staff, resources, and services for students. Please complete, sign, and return your child's form as soon as possible.
We are also having a little friendly competition! 🎉 The first three PRES classrooms to reach 100% returned Impact Aid forms will earn a special classroom incentive!
🔐 School Safety Training
On Monday, September 21, the TAC One team will be at PRES to provide active shooter preparedness training for our staff and students throughout the school day. Student training will be presented in an age-appropriate manner and will focus on listening to adults, following directions, and practicing important school safety procedures.
🍅 Cooking with Kids Continues!
Our students will continue participating in Cooking with Kids through September 28 with the Sunset Salsa experience. Students are having a great time exploring healthy foods, learning about nutrition, and participating in hands-on activities!
🌟 Celebrating Our Student of the Month
Congratulations to Jeremiah Bruno, our PRES Student of the Month! Jeremiah will represent PRES and be recognized at the PVSD Board Meeting on Wednesday, September 23. We are proud of Jeremiah and excited to celebrate this special recognition! 💚
Thank you, PRES families, for another great week and for your continued involvement in our school community. Have a wonderful weekend!
We are PRES — Where Good Choices Are Made! 💚
