I am excited to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. Under the leadership of your School Board, and with the support of staff, families, and the community, Pojoaque Valley School District will enthusiastically pursue our purpose of educating for excellence - every student; every day.
This academic year, our community embraces a refined, evolved mission and vision that will challenge us all to share in the responsibilities of supporting our students. We are investing in innovation and strategic initiatives to support our teachers and students from pre-kindergarten to graduation and beyond, offering comprehensive cradle-to-career pathways. We have growing programs in the elementary and intermediate schools so that all students will be on track and accelerated in reading and writing skills and immersed in real-world mathematical thinking and STEM-focused experiences. Our Middle and High School students will build upon this solid foundation as they explore more real-life, contextually based learning experiences that include growing opportunities for Advanced Placement courses, dual credit offerings, career, and technical certificate programs, and community-based internships, externships, and service projects.
One thing we promise to every family is a safe and challenging educational experience. Though we will continue to do our best to serve the growth and development of each individual student, we recognize that the most important factor for any student to succeed is the support and engagement of our families and community. As such, we actively look for opportunities to interface and interact with our constituent base. From community outreach to family events and festivities, our goal is that every member of the Pojoaque Valley School community feels embraced and invested in our collective excellence.
