Superintendent of Schools
Happy May, Pojoaque Valley Community!
It's a glorious season of hope and growth as we celebrate and recognize many calendar events. In addition to Mother's Day and Memorial Day, May is also the month we celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month, ALS Awareness Month, Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, and Foster Care Awareness Month.
It is also the season we most associate with graduation and end-of-school-year celebrations, commemorating milestones our children have reached as they transition from one life stage to another. We are so happy and proud of our Pojoaque Valley High School Graduates! We hope you will consider joining us on Saturday, May 17th, in the Ben Lujan Gym at PVHS at 10am to share in the joy of their special day!
As our school year is quickly ending, our teacher and administration teams are working double-time to not only ensure the end-of-year happenings are on schedule but that we are actively planning for next year with improved vertical alignment, purposeful, evidence-based, rigorous curriculum adoptions, and an expanded and centralized registration process. Our goals are to continue to improve systems and communication to earn your trust and support as we build the best school district in the state! Please be sure to check your school newsletters and the website for up-to-date information on end-of-year activities and events.
Please continue to read to your children and ask them to read to you. Remember to take care of your health, stay hydrated and sun-protected, and reach out to our health partners for support with medical and mental health issues: https://www.lcdn.org/
Thank you for a beautiful school year and the opportunity to serve your community in leadership. I hope you have a restful and restorative summer with your wonderful children and that you choose the Pojoaque Valley Schools next year!
Many blessings to you and your families,
Superintendent Suman
