Mr. Terry Burks, Principal
Mr. Burks' career at Pojoaque Valley High School includes 5 years as a Social Studies and AVID instructor and two years as the High School Assistant Principal. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix.  He is committed to working with the community, parents, and teachers to prepare all of our high school students for a four-year college opportunity. He is excited to work with our students, staff, and families this year and strives to provide students with the best possible educational experience that will challenge them academically, as well as help them mature into successful young adults.
Mrs. Cherie Romero, Assistant Principal
Ms. Romero brings nearly 20 years of experience in the classroom at multiple levels to her leadership at PVHS.  In 2018 she received the Pojoaque Valley Teacher of the Year award, and also served as a State Ambassador for the Public Education Department.  Ms. Romero helped develop a K-8 electronic literacy curriculum, facilitated professional development for K-12 teachers across the state, and advocated for improved policy at the legislative level.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from New Mexico Highlands University.  She is excited to be part of the PVHS team and aims to work collaboratively with families to increase the home-to-school connection and systematically target achievement goals.
