Pojoaque Valley Public School District RULES FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT BOARD MEETING

The Pojoaque Valley School District desires to hear the viewpoints of patrons and considers the responsible presentation of these viewpoints vital to the efficient operation of our organization. The Board also recognizes its responsibility for proper governance, and therefore, the need to conduct business in an orderly, efficient manner. The board, therefore, establishes the following procedures:

Members of the public may, at the discretion of the Board President, be recognized while the Board conducts its official business.

During any open meeting, the board shall not hear personal complaints against personnel or any person connected with our organization.

Members of the public desiring to address the board during the public comment portion of the meeting must complete this form and return it to Elaina Nunez. Recording Secretary, prior to the start of the meeting.

The Board President will recognize members of the public and set a time limit on the length of the comment period. In order to ensure that each person has an opportunity to speak, the Board President may also set a time limit for individual speakers.

The Board President is responsible for recognizing speakers, maintaining proper order, and adhering to any time limitation set. Questions of fact asked by the public will be answered by the Superintendent; questions requiring investigation will be referred to the Superintendent for a later report to the board.
