Throughout the discussion and planning process, we received valuable feedback from our community. Many community members expressed strong support for the idea of a gray field, and we truly appreciate the passion and engagement that went into those conversations.
Ultimately, the Board felt it was important to remain consistent with the colors that represent our district. Throughout the past two years, our district, Board of Education, and community worked hard to establish Kelly Green and White as our official school colors, with gray and black serving as accent colors.
We are grateful for the thoughtful input and pride our community continues to show for our schools. Your voices matter, and your engagement helps shape the decisions that move our district forward.

Message from the NMAA, Zac Stevenson regarding the seeding for our Girls Basketball team:
"We regret to announce an error was discovered in the seeding and selection process of the Girls Class 4A Bracket for the 2026 Nusenda Credit Union State Basketball Championships. The comparison process between St. Pius X High School, Espanola Valley High School, and Shiprock High School resulted in the misplacement of teams seeded 11-15. Upon a thorough review, the NMAA has corrected the bracket and the new 11-15 seeds are as follows: Shiprock (11), St. Pius X (12), Grants (13), Espanola Valley (14), and Pojoaque Valley (15). The new bracket is now available and links to tickets will follow soon.
We know many of you have spent time preparing and apologize for the change, but we wanted to get the correct information to you as soon as we could today."
Elkettes will now be playing against Gallup in Gallup on Friday, March 6th, at 7:00 pm.

During the event, the New Mexico Association for Family and Consumer Sciences and the NMSU Cooperative Extension Service launched the “It’s More Than a Cookie” campaign, selecting PVHS students to bake New Mexico’s iconic biscochitos. The cookies were packaged with information about skills gained in Family and Consumer Sciences courses and presented to legislators statewide. Students proudly showcased their culinary expertise and professionalism.
While at the Roundhouse, students observed committee meetings, spoke with legislative staff, attended a Senate floor session, and were formally recognized by the New Mexico Senate. 🙌
We extend sincere thanks to Glenda Depaula, Dianne Kemp, and Michelle Stizza for entrusting our students with such an important project. They represented Pojoaque Valley High School with excellence, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments. 💚🎉

The Pojoaque Valley School District Board of Education has officially adopted the 2026–2027 school calendar, which includes our transition to a four-day school week beginning next school year.
This decision followed months of research, planning, and community engagement including more than 1,300 survey responses from students, staff, families, and community members. Thank you for making your voices heard!
Our goal throughout this process was clear:
✅ Minimize instructional disruption
✅ Improve student and staff attendance
✅ Protect meaningful learning time to fully implement the 16 Strategies to achieve our four Goals outlined in our District Strategic Plan: Ignite the Path
✅ Strengthen literacy and numeracy outcomes
✅ Support recruitment and retention of high-quality educators
As we move to a four-day week, strong attendance will be more important than ever for staff and students. Each instructional day will be focused and impactful, and being present every day will be critical to student success.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our Calendar Committee for their hard work, innovation, and thoughtful problem-solving throughout this process.
Together, we are building a strong future for PVSD students!
