Homecoming Week Schedule

Note:

  • Permission slips are required for student participation in the parade on Wednesday.

  • Class Colors: Seniors- Black, Juniors- White, Sophomores- Silver, Freshman-Green

  • Students must have Impact Aid Forms submitted to Ms. Carrie to attend Homecoming Dance.

Early Release Thursday

Tentative Schedule for October 16th, which is an early release day.

Advisory Period 7:30am-8:05am

7th period 8:10am-9:00am

Pep Rally 9:00am-11:05am

Lunch- 11:05 -11:50

Dismiss after lunch.

First Semester Senior Meeting

We will hold a brief meeting on Wednesday, November 6th, where Seniors will receive important details about ordering their cap and gown for graduation.


Our cap and gown provider is Herff Jones. They will be onsite at PVHS on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:00 PM in the PVHS Library during a Senior Parent Meeting to take orders. (Please note that caps and gowns will not be delivered until April.)

Four Year Undergraduate Scholarship: Four-year Undergraduate Scholarships are designated for high school seniors and current undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any field of study. The process is competitive and open to students who are residents of the Foundation’s seven-county service area in Northern New Mexico.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • are a resident (366 consecutive days+) of Northern New Mexico in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos Counties. Students attending a residential school in one of the seven counties (Santa Fe Indian School, NM School for the Deaf, and NM School for the Arts) are eligible regardless of primary residency.

  • have a minimum 3.25 cumulative unweighted grade point average.

  • are enrolling in or currently attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a four-year degree.

Career Pathways Scholarship: Career Pathways Scholarships are for individuals who have a specific career in mind and are committed to earning an associate’s degree or certification in any field or trade. These scholarships are available to high school students and adult learners with a high school diploma or GED/High School Equivalency (HSE).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in a two-year degree or certificate program.

  • You are a permanent resident (366 consecutive days+) of Northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, or Taos at the time of application.

  • You have earned, or are on track to earn, a high school diploma or GED, are a high school senior currently enrolled in the final semester of high school or near completion of a GED/HSE program.

Cell Phone &Student ID Policy

Beginning on Monday, September 29th, student cell phones will be collected by the teacher at the start of class. This is to ensure that students are not distracted during instructional time. This new policy is in accordance with Senate Bill 11, a directive from the New Mexico Public Education Department.

Students are also required to wear their ID's at all times while on campus. If a student needs an ID, they can visit Ms. Melissa in the Admin office. The fee to replace an ID is $10.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be on October 16th and 17th.

Thursday will be early release. There will be no school on Friday.

Please reach out to teachers if you would like to make an appointment. Counselors are also available to meet.

Counseling Corner

  • The PSAT will take place on October 20th. This is only for sophomores and will be taken at school. The other grades will continue the day as usual.

  • Counselors will be in contact with students who need credit recovery starting Quarter 2.

Chromebooks

All students should have a Chromebook. If any student does not, please see Mr. Matthew Esquibel in Room 120. To be issued a Chromebook, students must sign and return a check-out form to Mr. Esquibel. Students should bring their charged Chromebook to school everyday.

Homecoming Dance Tickets

The Homecoming Dance is scheduled for October 18th. Any student who wants to bring a guest that is not enrolled at Pojoaque Valley High School will need to fill out a guest pass. Guest passes are available to pickup with Ms. Elizabeth in the Admin Office.

Pojoaque Valley High School Symphonic Band

The Pojoaque Valley High School Symphonic Band is currently accepting donations of used band instruments. If you have an old band instrument laying around, we'd love to put it to good use! Impact Aid Forms

Please remember to return any Impact Aid Forms to Ms. Carrie in the Counseling Office. Students that do not return their form will not be allowed to attend Homecoming.
