10/09 Family Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hello PRES Families,

This week, we were excited to welcome the Los Alamos Fire Department to PRES for a fantastic Fire Safety Presentation! The event was informative and interactive, featuring a simulated motor home experience. Students also took home child-friendly safety materials and firefighter hats—thank you to the fire department for this engaging experience!

On Wednesday, PRES went “Pink Out” in support of the fight against breast cancer and to honor survivors. We also held our Quarterly Assembly, where we celebrated students with Perfect Attendance, Birthdays, Good Choices, and those nominated for Student of the Month. It was a great day to recognize the positive efforts of our students!

Looking Ahead:

  • Monday, October 13 – No School in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day

  • Wednesday, October 15 – PVHS Homecoming Parade. at 2 pm

  • Thursday & Friday, October 16–17 – Parent-Teacher Conferences

If you haven’t scheduled a Parent-Teacher Conference yet, please call the office to make an appointment. These conferences are an important opportunity for two-way communication. You’ll learn about your child’s strengths, progress, and how you can support their learning at home. As a parent, I used to jot down questions beforehand—it helped me stay involved and support my child more effectively.

Reminder: There is no school on Friday, October 17 due to Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Thank you for being such dedicated partners in your child’s education. You are their first and most important teacher!

Have a wonderful week!
